We take great care in picking our trainee attorneys each year.
We give them a large amount of responsibility early on and require them to show not only intellectual ability, but also show passion for the law; ability for independent thinking; ability to come up with pragmatic solutions to complex problems; and to be creative. However, most of all, they have to be strong team players.
Our office recruitment policy also dictates that languages are highly important. Thus, fluency in a foreign language is a distinct advantage for all those who apply.
You job will be well rewarded with a competitive trainee salary. You will get to work on high-profile, complex cases from day one, and will be working as a part of our office team. Compared to some other firms, it is worth noting that we put much emphasis on a multidisciplinary approach to training, thus trying to give you an opportunity to work on a number of different cases and in different areas of the law. Having in mind the core practice areas of the office, you will be spending a fair amount of time dealing with court matters.
Our trainee intake is usually from September to November each year for undergraduate or graduate finalists and those who have graduated in the intake year.
Therefore, we suggest that you send your applications by 31 June for each intake. Early applications are encouraged.
Late applications may not be considered due to time constraints. We conduct interviews during July and August.
We strongly encourage students to apply for internship placements at our group internships as a means to secure a full time training position. The majority of our future trainees are selected from the group internships. These give us an opportunity to get to know you well during the month you spend working with our team.
