Qualified Attorneys

While the vast majority of our current attorneys come through our training programme to become full time firm members, we are always on the lookout for perspective and ambitious lawyers who can contribute to our team.

We will help you develop and improve your skill set in fast-paced environment by providing open-door and collaborative culture. You will be encouraged to take the lead, share your knowledge, ask questions, and build your practice within the firm.

For all enquires please send an email to: karijere@tomanovic.rs.  Also, please follow our Blog page and LinkedIn for lateral recruitment news.

Trainees

The two years of attorney training are challenging years for those starting in the legal industry, but with proper guidance and mentoring, these bring knowledge, excitement, experience, and proper career guidance that is essential to the formation of a practicing attorney.

We take great care in picking our trainee attorneys as we give them a large amount of responsibility early on. Our trainee intake is usually from September to November each year for undergraduate or graduate finalists and for those who have graduated in the intake year.  Occasionally, we also hire laterally, throughout the year, so please keep an eye on our website and LinkedIn page.

Your passion for law, independent thinking and fluency in foreign languages will be highly valued. You will get to work on high-profile, complex cases from day one, and will be working as a part of our office team. Compared to some other firms, it is worth noting that we put much emphasis on a multidisciplinary approach to training, thus trying to give you an opportunity to work on a number of different cases and in different areas of the law. Having in mind the core practice areas of the office, you will be spending a fair amount of time dealing with court matters.

Applicants are invited to apply during our hiring windows, as advertised on the website and on our LinkedIn page, but we also support and encourage ad hoc applications for aspiring trainees throughout the year.

The application should be sent to karijere@tomanovic.rs, and include:

  • CV that includes a full breakdown of university results for each subject and a calculated average mark.
  • a Cover Letter, in which you may want to cover certain subjects such as: ·
    • Why do you want to become a lawyer?
    • Why our office?
    • Your particular area of interest in law.
    • Your interests outside of academia; including your extracurricular activities and hobbies.
    • Your expectations for the future. How might a career in law assist you in those plans?

Please note that we receive a large number of applications for any position we advertise, and the majority of the applications are from excellent candidates. Consider the Cover Letter as an opportunity for us to get to know you; and not only your academic successes.

Reference letters are accepted by our office although not mandatory. We accept Academic and Professional references. We accept applications in both Serbian and English language.

Group Internships

Aware that most students are eager to find out what being attorney really is, we try to enable this experience through our group internships.

Our group internships are aimed at law students currently at their 3rd or 4th year of law studies, or who are currently pursuing a master’s degree. Normally, the internships last for four weeks and occur several times throughout the year.

During this internship students are exposed to the same work as the lawyers and trainees and will be conducting research, working on cases, attending trials and also visiting firm-organized workshops.

After the internship you will have better sense of what to expect of your future career as lawyer.

The group internships are advertised on the website of the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, our LinkedIn page and our website. Please keep track of the news updates for the latest information on group internships and application dates.

Additionally, we welcome ad hoc applications for internships from interested students who may always send their CV and cover letter to karijere@tomanovic.rs.
