Trainees
The two years of attorney training are challenging years for those starting in the legal industry, but with proper guidance and mentoring, these bring knowledge, excitement, experience, and proper career guidance that is essential to the formation of a practicing attorney.
We take great care in picking our trainee attorneys as we give them a large amount of responsibility early on. Our trainee intake is usually from September to November each year for undergraduate or graduate finalists and for those who have graduated in the intake year. Occasionally, we also hire laterally, throughout the year, so please keep an eye on our website and LinkedIn page.
Your passion for law, independent thinking and fluency in foreign languages will be highly valued. You will get to work on high-profile, complex cases from day one, and will be working as a part of our office team. Compared to some other firms, it is worth noting that we put much emphasis on a multidisciplinary approach to training, thus trying to give you an opportunity to work on a number of different cases and in different areas of the law. Having in mind the core practice areas of the office, you will be spending a fair amount of time dealing with court matters.
Applicants are invited to apply during our hiring windows, as advertised on the website and on our LinkedIn page, but we also support and encourage ad hoc applications for aspiring trainees throughout the year.
The application should be sent to karijere@tomanovic.rs, and include:
- CV that includes a full breakdown of university results for each subject and a calculated average mark.
- a Cover Letter, in which you may want to cover certain subjects such as: ·
- Why do you want to become a lawyer?
- Why our office?
- Your particular area of interest in law.
- Your interests outside of academia; including your extracurricular activities and hobbies.
- Your expectations for the future. How might a career in law assist you in those plans?
Please note that we receive a large number of applications for any position we advertise, and the majority of the applications are from excellent candidates. Consider the Cover Letter as an opportunity for us to get to know you; and not only your academic successes.
Reference letters are accepted by our office although not mandatory. We accept Academic and Professional references. We accept applications in both Serbian and English language.
